Interview with Alexey Kuvaldin

The creator of the The Wilds sticker pack
Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live today?
Alexey Kuvaldin: I was born and raised in Kirov, Russia, lived for a bit in St. Petersburg, and have since settled on the coast of Montenegro in a small town called Herceg Novi.
SP: Tell us about the characters you created for your stickers.
AK: They are Raeb, Tibbar, and Flow, a bear, rabbit, and wolf, respectively — a classic dream team from the woods. They are wild fellows who can’t control their emotions, just like all of us.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
AK: It’s “Dinos And A Cat,” an illustration I did in a couple hours just for fun. It looks pretty good considering I did it just for myself.
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
AK: It was Homer Simpson. I sold it to a classmate.
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
AK: I started my career as a designer 10 years ago. I’ve worked as a print designer, logo-maker, UI designer, and so on. I wouldn’t say I was good in these roles. I moved to Montenegro three years ago and started my career from scratch, doing illustrations.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
AK: I’ll drink some coffee. After that, we’ll see. I don’t usually make plans for the future. Things happen by themselves.
SP: What is your favorite app or game?
AK: Dots & Co.
