Interview with Andrey Gordeev

The creator of the Chapik sticker pack
Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live today?
Andrey Gordeev: I've traveled to a lot of countries over the last six years and am very happy to go back to Russia. It's the best country. Come visit St. Petersburg, it's one of the most amazing cities.
SP: Tell us about your sticker's characters.
AG: This sticker pack is about a white puppy that used to live with me, but has unfortunately since died. It was an unusual dog and behaved similarly to a human. Its name was Chapik, just like the sticker pack. Once I dropped money while sitting on my motorcycle and didn't want to pick it up, so I just looked at Chapik and he picked it all up and put it in my hand.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
AG: Ha ha! All of my illustrations are my favorite!
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
AG: My mother told me that I started drawing at 11 months. My first series of illustrations revolved around the movie Rambo. I was really inspired and created a book with pictures of him when I was six years old.
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
AG: Over the last eight years I have been working in advertising illustration. I've won a heck of a lot of awards in this area - Cannes Lions, CLIO, ADC – damn, I just can't keep up with them all.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
AG: I am attracted to game and app development. I think it's modern art. When was the last time you went to the Museum of Modern Art? It's just boring bullshit. The most interesting things happening are in the field of games.
SP: What is your favorite app or game?
AG: Green Riding Hood, of course! If you haven't yet installed this app, do not hesitate. It is the most beautiful fairy tale for children. After all, I created it :-)
