Interview with Diarmuid Ó Catháin

The creator of the Orbo Stickers sticker pack
Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live now?
Diarmuid Ó Catháin: I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. The rain in Ireland "inspires" me to rarely go outside and therefore leaves me with no choice but to draw and create!
SP: Tell us about your stickers – characters.
DC: Orbo is an orb-headed robot whose sole purpose in life is to brighten up your chats with his silly goings on.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
DC: My favourite illustrations are my personal work, where there is no client to please but myself!
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
DC: One of the first Illustrations I remember doing is a drawing of a very elaborate mansion, that I planned to live in one day. It spanned over about 10 pages of a copybook and was equipped with many many gun turrets, barbed wire fences and bodyguards. I was a paranoid child it seems. With delusions of grandeur.
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
DC: I studied Visual Communications and worked in a graphic design agency for a few years before going freelance with illustration about 9 years ago.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
DC: I would love one day to write and illustrate my own kids' book. Also, designing a board game would be a dream commission.
