Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live today?
Gabriel Fermanelli: I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina, a place where everything is possible (and not always in a good way, heh).
SP: Tell us about your stickers’ characters.
GF: Boompers are creatures controlled by their emotions. They are minimalistic, cute, and brave! They live in a digital world, behind the screens of your phone, computer, camera, or monitor, and they only show up when they’re relevant to your life.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
GF: I always like my latest one. One of my favorites is the the aviator from The Little Prince, for which I did a collaborative book with different illustrators.
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
GF: My first illustration was very controversial. I did an album cover for my brother. Why do you have to remind me?!
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
GF: I’m an illustrator for animation. I was a director for a motion graphics company called Punga, and today I work as a freelance director and preproduction developer. Basically, I’m a mercenary! I studied animation and comic illustration at university, I’ve worked in 3D studios, and I’m an amateur programmer. So I know a bit of everything, but only a little.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
GF: Someday I will do a game and someday I will do a short film, but I don’t know when. Lately I’m developing a deck of cards and am still working on new animation projects.
SP: What is your favorite app or game?
GF: I’d like to say Monument Valley or something else beautiful, but really, I play Yummy Gummy whenever I have free time.
