Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live now?
Jonas Mosesson: Born and raised in Gothenburg, now living in Stockholm but I dream of living in rural Japan.
SP: Tell us about your stickers – characters.
JM: We cut ‘em, fry ‘em and slice them everyday and no one thinks about them. The foods of the world are always getting the short end of the stick. Or the sharp blade of the knife. I thought I’d show you their moody world.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
JM: I feel really bad for the watermelon, poor guy keeps losing his seeds. In the sticker pack, that is. Otherwise I kind of always like the latest one I did best and I hate the old ones.
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
JM: I used to draw all the time when I was a kid, mostly pirates, monsters and ninjas. Then I opened MS Paint for the first time, maybe at 7-8 years old, and I was stuck. Haven’t drawn by hand since. Still use a computer mouse. Tablets suck.
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
JM: I faked my way into my first job at an internet magazine back in 2000, the hayday of the internet boom, by never telling them my age and only working remotely. That got me a steady job eventually. After nine years I was the most senior designer, so I quit. It sucks not having more talented people around you. Got into animation and here I am.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
JM: Probably keep drawing dying fruits and vegetables. Too much fun not too. Would love to learn classical animation someday. And make a Google Doodle.
SP: What is your favorite app or game?
JM: CANDY CRUSH. I think I’m on level 1800 almost. Haven’t spent one cent.
