Sticker.Place: Where are you from and where do you live now?
Pavel Mishkin: I was born and raised in quite a green area of Moscow. Every week the whole family would want deep in the forest and try to find animals. Sometimes we only found people.
I tried to live in the United States for six months, but the experience showed me that I love Russia more than the US (although I found more animals in American forests). I returned to Moscow and will soon try to love another country.
SP: Tell us about your stickers – characters.
PM: They are liquid pals. I love to draw people in this style; I think it makes them look more expressive.
I tried to catch different emotions and situations with the characters in this sticker pack. I hope I did so successfully.
SP: Which of your illustrations is your favorite?
PM: I have a lot of favorite illustrations. Perhaps my favorite is a picture of a man with a jar of water, because there are a lot of liquids: liquid water and the liquid man's face.
SP: Tell us about your first illustration.
PM: Mother told me I had drawn a small fish for my first illustration, but we can't find it. We recently looked at my kindergarten illustrations, and I think I found precursors to my liquid drawing style there.
SP: Tell us about your background and experience.
PM: I love drawing for kids and adults. At first I drew just for kids. I love to do it because I think illustrations can make people happier. I try to use my work to capture character movement or exciting atmosphere.
Every week I go to an artist's workroom and study academic painting. It's very helpful.
And another thing: I love walking very much. It's an excellent way to reboot your mind.
SP: What are your plans for the future?
PM: Draw better, travel more, and study astronomy. When I was in the US, I learned about this awesome, intriguing part of science. Now I know what Betelgeuse is. It's not useless knowledge.
SP: What is your favorite app or game?
PM: I think it was the game – Draw Something, where you can improve your drawing skills.
